AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner Tips and Tricks

With winter already settled here, it feels like a fresh new beginning. It’s the perfect time to try new things such as new skincare products. I am thrilled to work again together with AXIS-Y to review some of their new products – and one of them is the other toner they offer – the Aqua Boosting Essence Toner – which is part of the Water Your Skin collection! Not only their products are gentle and effective, but the the concept of their brand as climate-inspired personalised skincare is intriguing.

If you have sensitive and/or combination skin, prone to irritation, and you are looking for products that are gentle and soothing, yet effective, AXIS-Y products are definitely for you. For 15 days, I tested the AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner every day as part of both my morning and evening routine.

About AXIS-Y

The focus of AXIS-Y is on the effects of the environment on the skin – the growing pollution, stressful factor and climate change. Together with travelling from one corner of the world to another, there are unique skin concerns that arise from going from one climate to the other and the need for personalised skincare. They are the first creators of climate-inspire skincare!

They are committed to their values of natural-derived skin-loving ingredients, safety, no animal testing, vegan-certified and effective formulas. I could immediately see their care for the environment by the packaging. So many companies use bubble wrap or packing peanuts and it breaks my heart a bit to see so much plastic. But AXIS-Y uses a special type of wrapping made of paper, a great eco-friendly alternative to bubble wrap. Their values and the feeling their products give is reflected in the cardboard packaging of each product also. The background of off-white with a tint of green, has accents of darker green (for the ingredients’ illustrations) and red (for the trademarked ‘6+1+1 Advanced Formula’). Not only that but also the containers of the products with green bottle, label that matches the box, and white caps. I highly enjoy using products that are soothing for the eyes and a pleasure to use, even before actually opening and using them.

Aqua Boosting Essence Toner

The toner’s core ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which is a must have skincare routine component because it helps the skin retain moisture. The 6 base ingredients are allantoin, squalene, Centella asiatica, green tea, heartless and mugwort which soother, calm, and refresh the skin. The technology that brings them all together is OLIGO-HA (Oligo-Hyaluronic) technology which reduces the size of the hyaluronic acid molecules to improve skin elasticity, permeability and prevent wrinkles.

I use the Aqua Boosting Essence Toner after the cleansing step, both morning and evening. I start by applying a few drops on a cotton pad and swipe if all over my face. Afterwards I add some onto my hands and pat it on the face. This toner is hydrating so it can be layered and used as an essence also after using a more purifying toner.

AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner Tips and Tricks

This type of super hydrating toner can be used in several ways. You can put a few drops on a cotton pad and the swipe it all over your face and neck. Afterwards, you can use it as an essence, by patting a few drops into the skin. I usually do 2-3 layers depending on how ‘thirsty’ my skin feels. You can also use it for mini sheet masks by soaking tiny cotton pads and putting them all over your face. I have recently started to use it for massaging my skin – I apply a generous layer on my forehead, cheeks, under the eyes and neck and massage it into my skin for a few minutes especially around the cheeks and the jawline.
