If you’re looking to refresh your makeup and beauty drawer for the spring, look no further! Let’s get you started with my top 5 Korean Beauty must have products that will make your face look like a newborn – flawless and hydrated 24/7!
The sheet mask
These are my absolute favourite Korean (& Japanese) beauty item. Absolute! It is perfect for a hydration kick. It’s effective, easy to carry when you travel, leaves your skin smooth and glowing and it’s not messy to use. I do love those LUSH masks, but you keep them in a pot in a fridge, and then you have to rinse them off your face. The sheet masks are the perfect mini spa treatment. You can have it wherever and whenever – when you travel on the plane, in the morning while you sip your coffee, in the evening while watching a movie. They stick to your face so well that you don’t have to limit your activities. I tried this TONY MOLY sheet mask with green tea and I totally recommend it! It soothes the skin and moisturises it well – my face was glowing the next day!
The cleansing foam
This is a crucial element in my makeup removal routine. I first start with a makeup removing oil to remove the bulk of my makeup, and then I use a foam to remove the residues. Last year I was using a Shiseido foam that was a bit too harsh for my skin (especially in winter) and now I’m using one the honey moisture cleansing foam from Ottie that is for normal & dry skin. I can even use it in the morning.
The cushion foundation
Oh my God, this was love at first sight. It’s like using a beauty blender but you don’t get messy everywhere. The cushion delivers as much products as it is needed and then you just apply it to your face with the foundation puff. Plus, you can recharge the foundation and keep the same box. Will not even mention how lightweight and buildable it is, or how it has SPF. If you don’t have an SPF cream or you forgot to apply it, this will save you! The one I tried so far is the magic cushion from MISSHA.
The Tony Moly set
Every time I check out Korean & Japanese beauty products, I see TONS that are concerned with black spots. Heating balms, pore strips, peelings, cooling balms – you name it and they have it. But I have been having my eye on that super cute TONY MOLY egg set that had a steaming balm, a cooling balm and a silky balm. I love them so much! I use the steaming and the cooling balms once per week and my nose it definitely blackhead free (which are difference from sebaceous filaments, guys!). The steaming balm opens up your pores and gently scrubs your nose, while the cooling balm closes your pores. Perfect, no? now, the silky balm, I thought it would be like a third step, like a hydration part. But not necessarily – I realized it’s actually a primer, so you can definitely use this by itself to give you a smooth look or before applying makeup. The entire range smells fresh with a hint of lemons and I totally recommend trying them out.
The eye masks
These are also so amazing, guys! Just like the face sheet masks, they can be used whenever, wherever without getting messy. I have tried several Sephora eye masks (that are quite expensive, at around 3-4E / pair) so I went and ordered a box of 30 pairs for only 10E ! what?? Yes! By the way, same goes with sheet masks. Buying online from Korean or Japanese brands you can get as cheap as 1$/mask (so less than 1 E), while in the shop you will definitely pay at least 4E for one. The ones I tried are the Black Pearl & Gold from PETITFEE. They are super smooth are feel fresh on the skin.
