Make sure you pack some snacks and water to keep you going all day long. It’s so important to stay hydrated while you’re out in the sun all day. It’s also important to make sure you pack your sunscreen so you don’t overdo your tanning. You’re also going to want to bring a separate beach blanket so you don’t end up toweling off with something covered in sand. Sand sticks everywhere as it is, there’s no need to make matters worse.

Make sure to bring a cute floaty and a game to play with friends. A Frisbee is easy to pack and a great way to meet some new people or have fun with your friends. When you’re having fun with friends it’s easy to lose track of time and end up leaving later as the weather gets a bit cooler. I always pack a light long sleeve shirt to keep me warm on the way home.

20 THINGS TO PACK IN YOUR BEACH BAG_2If you want to save yourself in an emergency make sure to pack some tissue paper to use as toilet paper – I can’t count how many times this has saved me. It’s also a great idea to bring a tampon or 2 – you never know when you, or someone you know, may need it. Cash is also a handy thing to bring. You never know when you might need change for parking or something tasty from a food truck. And of course, you can’t forget a good pair of sandals, and your favourite sunnies.

It’s always a good idea to bring a small beauty bag with some basics like chapstick. You’re also going to want to bring along face wipes to freshen up, and a hair tie to keep your hair out of your face. Hair ties also come in handy for impromptu braid sessions with the squad! You also want to take care of those tresses and embrace your beachy hair with some leave-in conditioner and/or salt spray. I like to spray some leave-in conditioner, extra on the ends, and finger comb it through my hair. Then I scrunch it up with some salt spray.

Keep your tunes rolling with your phone, wireless speaker, and a backup battery charger. All of this may sound like a lot when it’s all listed it out, but it fits together quite nicely when you use little bags to help organize things like I did. Everything fits great in an average sized beach bag like this one from Tina Turk and, and Fab Fit Fun.

  1. Great list… I don’t see a cellphone listed anywhere though… I need my phone to stay sane ha ha… I guess it’s not really a beach essential. Other than that love the post and that polka dot bikini is to die for. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thanks for sharing that list. Just spent the day at the beach and was glad to have my hat, sunnies, water and sunscreen (all in your list!).

  3. I think I could live without some of the items on this list. I don’t like it when my bag is too heavy… But it’s a fun list, I give you that! 🙂
