3 Ways to Use Aloe Vera Gel

I first discovered aloe vera gel while on holiday in Thailand. After soaking up too much sun, our skin got too dehydrated, dry and slightly burnt. So we decided to head over to the nearest 7/11 and get our hands on some aloe vera gel. It’s widely know that Aloe Vera gel has soothing properties; it can reduce inflamed skin, hydrate it and heal it. Slathering my body in aloe vera gel was the best. My skin was not only feeling fresh, but also soft, smooth, plump. As I quickly realised how amazing it is, I came back with an Aloe vera & Snail serum that I would apply on my face and body, as soon as my skin screamed for hydration.
As soon as this serum finished, I ordered the famous aloe vera gel by nature republic and I am currently using it every single day! Check out the 3 ways that I am currently using it!

3 ways to use aloe vera gel _ftAloe Vera Gel as Face Mask & Moisturiser

Every morning, after I wash and tone my face and neck, I apply a moderate layer of aloe vera gel all over. After 10-15 minutes, I wash off the excess to reveal plump and, I dare say, brightened skin! Sometimes, when my skin needs hydration, I would use the gel as a moisturiser. I apply a thin layer over my face and skin and let if soak completely before proceeding with the next step. One can also use aloe vera gel as a sleeping mask. However, this proved to be very tricky for me. Applying a thick layer over my face is complicated when I am a restless sleeper. I toss and turn and often sleep on my stomach. So RIP sleeping mask.

Aloe Vera Gel as Body Lotion & After Sun Care

After my personal experience, I am using every other day the gel as body lotion. I especially use it on my legs after I shave them, as this can be extremely drying. What slightly annoys me is that, as with any body lotion, it takes a while to absorb. But being a bit patient will pay off! As mentioned already at the beginning, aloe vera gels are EXCELLENT as after sun care, no matter if you got burnt or not.

Aloe Vera Gel as Hair Mask

The skin on our face and body are not the only places that need to be take care of, to be hydrated. Aloe vera has many benefits for the hair, such as prevent itchy scalp, reduce dandruff and condition the hair. After washing my hair, I apply the gel all over my hair and massage it all over. After 10-15 minutes, I thoroughly rinse it with water. I am still trying this out, but so far, no bad side effects to this! I sure hope that my stress-induced dandruff and itchy scalp will benefit from this mask.
