Monday was just a few days ago, and your work week is not over yet. You feel down, tired, stressed and the week-end is way to far away? You feel like you need a vacation right now? I have 5 tips for you to recharge, break the routine and feel fresh.
1. Read a book. We all have a list of books we want to read and it always seems like we don’t have any time for them and time just passes by. After dinner, make yourself a cup of tea, grab a cozy blanket and immerse yourself in a new book from your list.
2. Take a relaxing bath. You know that bath bomb you got long time ago that looks too pretty to be used? Yes, that one – use it now. You deserve a colourful, delicious, relaxing bath. Can be combined with reading a book and/or doing an extensive skincare routine.
3. Binge watch. As with books, I bet you have a list of movies or TV series that you feel like you have to see (if you are one of those hasn’t watched ‘Friends’ or ‘Sex and the city’, now is your time). Just like with books, watching a movie/episode can relax you.
4. Eat your favorite dessert. Yes, we all have that one time a week when we eat our favourite dessert, because that’s our cheat day. But if eating a piece of tiramisu or a mini Magnum ice cream makes you happy, then why not? Can be paired with binge watching, but be careful to switch to fruits or tea after your little dessert.
5. Disconnect. After work, don’t forget to turn off your email notifications. To really relax and enjoy me time, take a break from social media and your phone (especially if you are reading a book or taking a bath). Nothing bad will happen, trust me ๐

Thaks ๐ hope you’ll feel recharged ๐
I guess that I can use these tips once I’m back from my holidays as I’m super busy now. I like no. 5 – it really feels good to take a break from ‘refreshing’ and ‘updating’ once in a while ๐

Staying away for a while from my phone & laptop feels really good, but I can’t maage more than 20 min or so ๐
You are so right… Can’t remember when I read a book! I think tonight I will pick one from my pile and just start reading! Thank you!

Enjoy your book ๐
Adorable post – even if I find pretty difficult to read when I am tired, but I think the bath suggestion for me works perfectly!

Thanks ๐ reading a light book or a magazine in the bath would work too – anything that takes your mind of work ๐
All great suggestions to help you unwind, especially unplug. We spend a lot of time (especially as bloggers) worrying about who has responded to your post and what they think, but it’s much better to forget about it and put the iPad, iPhone, or computer aside. I definitely am realizing I need to do some of these things and more importantly make the time for it so it happens!
This looks so amazing! And that tiramisu! Problem with me though is that I love a hot bath for about 5 minutes and then get bored and too hot and need to get out haha x
me too!! I always feel too hot in the bath. Maybe because I have no windows to open and cool down the room. Otherwise, just the process of preparing a bath and even 10-15 minutes can help ๐
Great post. I think it’s important to take some time out for yourself and relax a bit. Thanks for the amazing suggestions.
Such nice tips… It’s good, I would say essential, to pamper ourselves and dedicate us some “me”time. And I love the pictures you chose ๐
It has been a long week, I need to shut down, Tonight, I am having a beer, my favorite is Stella. Thanks for the post Joe @ http://www.mydaddoes.com
Nice post – and just what I need! Especially the disconnection with technology – So Monday I will go to the jungle for 8 days, swim in the river, relax in my hammock, roast fish over fire, sleep under the canopy and wake up to the sound of howler monkeys! It always feel like a 3 weeks break when you fully disconnect with everyday life! ๐ Thanks for a great post.
Taking a break from technology is a must, you’re so right!
Personally, I read a magazine and drink a delicious macchiato.
“Merci” for this lovely post!
I agree with almost all these tips, except for the “read a book” tip, it actually makes me want to sleep, haha.
Nice tips you shared ๐
