New season, new you, new makeup goodies in your makeup stash, right? Right! Sun is shining and the rebirth of the nature is your cute to refresh your makeup bag! In another collaboration with YesStyle, I am featuring a simple and minimal Korean Spring makeup routine that you can wear all day during these beautiful spring days!
We’re going to start the makeup routing with a good preparation of the skin: cleanser, tonic lotion, serum and emulsion. After the skincare products have been absorbed into the skin, it’s time for the sunscreen and the BB cream (what I usually use).
A Super Easy Korean Spring Makeup Routine
COSRX – Low PH Good Morning Cleanser
I have tried the pimple patches from COSRX and this gel cleanser is as amazing. It removes the excess oil, and because it contains tea tree oil, it does not dry the face!
Etude House – Pink Vital Water Trial Kit (Facial Tones+ Serum+Emulsion)
I have always wanted to try this Pink Vital Water collection. This 3-step kit helps restore moisture and oil-and-water balance to protect the skin. It contains peach water and Vitamins A, C and E. After using the cleanser, apply the toner, then serum and emulsion.
THANK YOU FARMER – Sun Project Sun Essence + Be Beautiful BB Cream & CC Cream trial set
I have never applied so many products on my face but they feel rather light and my skin feels fresh and hydrated. After applying the SPF50 sunscreen (which I apply every day anyway), proceed with the SPF 30 BB cream to cover blemishes and uneven skin tone, and then CC cream for a bright skin.
These are normal steps that I take every morning, no matter what (except CC cream, and I also add eye cream). A well cleansed and hydrated skin is key to flawless skin and flawless looking makeup!
Now, onto the “real stuff”.
MCC – Accent Waterproof Eyeliner
I usually prefer to put the eyeliner before anything else, because if I screw up, I can remove it and start over without ruining the foundation & concealer around my eyes. They say that it is waterproof but I have to say that somehow, it did not work in my case. Applying it is very easy and you can always sharpen it using the tiny sharpener at the other end of the eyeliner (cutest sharpener, to be honest!)
Berrisom – Oops Dual Contouring
Now this was a challenge. I don’t really contour – the only time I come close to that is when I apply some bronzer under my cheekbones and it gives me a bit of color and impression that my face is less round.
I was so freaked out when I saw how much product I ended up putting on my face. All throughout this, I kept thinking “blend, blend, blend” because that’s what I see those beauty YouTubers do. And they put a significant quantity of product. So I blended with my beauty blender until I did not look as if I was dirty around my face. And I have to say, it looked rather natural – I could indeed see a color difference between areas with highlighter, darker color and normal skin, but it was all blended and looking nice. I felt like a badass.
RiRe – Luxe Dual Stick Shadow + Blusher
The blush stick is actually blush & eyeshadow stick. I used the more orangey color on my cheeks and gently blended with the beauty blender. I am always scared of putting too much blush and I think that this time I nailed it.
RiRe – Lip Manicure Rouge Highfix
Now this was the cherry on top – as it’s also red. The bottle is very small and also the wand. I love that is smells great, it’s easy to apply and it has a silky feel. Once it dries it looks matte I would say, but not like other matter lipsticks. It somehow gets blended into your lips and makes them look as if they are naturally shiny brick red! I love it! It can last a few hours but it depends on what you eat and what you drink.
A’PIEU – My Little Mascara (High Curling)
This mascara is amazing, ok? I would put it on the same level as with the Roller Mascara from Benefit. It says on it “curling”, which, from experience, would mean that it keeps the lashes curled after you used an eyelash curler. But no! It actually curls them like the Roller Lash does. And I am in love!
heimish – All Clean Balm
I have tried this balm to remove the swatches I took for this post. And I have to say, it works wonders. It looks and feels like coconut oil, and has a fresh smell. Thank for tha tit’s suitable for sensitive skin thanks to hypoallergenic ingredients : shea butter, citrus herbs and white flower extracts.
After trying to remove the contouring swatches with water (why would I even do that??) and they were very waterproof, I applied a bit of this balm on the area. I added a bit of water and massaged, and the makeup was slowly going away. I rinsed with water and voilà! Clean skin!
I am really pleased with this sweet spring makeup box because it came with 5 full size products (!!) and allowed me to test others that I have been eyeing for some time.
Here is also a photo of my face with all these products on recreating the Korean spring makeup routine! I love that it looks quite natural and soft, which is perfect for spring!
I love all of the colours in here! Gorgeous photos!! Loved Korean products. Great post babe x
